Having music on when I'm working is a must. I can't have it on too loud - unfortunately, I'm one of those people that will end up just listening to the music, and sitting idly next to my work. Not exactly the idea.
I feel like music and art have a very strong connection, the two really go hand in hand. What you listen to can often influence your work, and your work may push you into certain genres of music.
I seem to be very influenced by season when it comes to my studio playlist. My studio is in the attic, and has two very small windows in the roof behind my desk - because of this, I can never tell if its bright, raining, or pitch black outside.
Having a playlist that reflects the season, somewhat helps me to feel like I'm not sat in a sterile space, but makes me feel more aware of my surroundings... if that makes sense!
I have decided to make a few seasonal playlists as I work, and share them with you here. I have made the playlists public on Spotify for you to follow along, and please feel free to send new song suggestions my way too!
** You can find my first playlist HERE **
This is a very folky and woodsy sounding list I must say. From my two small windows I overlook my back garden, and then the farmer's field to the back again. (Should I make a post on my studio space?) Now that all the trees are bare, and the woods are covered in leaves I can sometimes tippy-toe and watch the wildlife in breaks of working. This playlist very much captures the tracks I'd most like to listen to while watching the pheasants, squirrels, rabbits, and robins mooch about in the woodland. Here are a few pics from the last few months!
I hope you enjoy this start of an autumn playlist! I'm sure I'll add to it as time goes on! Please send me any songs you think I should check out, or any playlists of your own!
Thank you for reading!
